Still can't talk! Waiting for my GP to call back to get an estimate for work as to when I might be able to start taking calls. Two weeks now, so its putting a lot of strain on my colleagues, particularly as it is quarter end.
I've managed to do a bit of laundry, and put a few things away, but I have a major challenge on my hands as I need to get my bedroom cleared for the floors to be done on Thursday. This means making enough space in the spare room to fit my bed in. I've also been unable to call the decorator to sort out quotes and dates, so the upheaval will last much longer than originally anticipated
A warning to anyone ordering curtain fabric - the friend who is making my kitchen curtains has been dealing with Laura Ashley who have stated the repeat wrongly on the pattern, so a. we ordered the wrong amount and b. she's already cut out by the time she realised. Apparently they are replacing the fabric (and supplying the extra) free of charge (and if they try charging me for it, they'll discover that the credit card has expired, as its the CRUK one that HBOS no longer do so I've closed the account), but its the third time she's had this problem with them. Hopefully it won't delay her too much, as she'd hoped to have them done for next week when my parents are visiting.
Miserable and foggy here, so play to try to shift some work and also get some washing done. I need to find somewhere/someone (other than piggers who is too far away) with a vast WM and TD to wash my duvet in as I've been sweating so much while I've been ill that I'm not sure now whether its me or the bed that is causing the cold clammy dampness during the night! Mattress topper and pillows can all go in the WM, so will make a start on them over the weekend. The thin bit of the duvet does too, so I may have to use a sheet and blanket with that for a bit.0 -
Greenbee have you got an ironing service near you that picks up and delivers? If so give them a try for your duvets as I've just had mine done and my down duvet looks like new.0

greenbee - healing vibes coming your way!
Can you not get your duvet washed on a service wash at a local launderette? Most of them up here will do it.... saves you the hassle...:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
I might ask my ironing lady if she can help, but I think she just does ironing, not washing.
We don't have a laundrette... I live in a village which has a shop, butcher, chemist, hairdresser, florist, art gallery and four pubs, but no laudrette!
ETA - I'd also rather wash it with my own laudry detergent...0 -
Morning all
Ds2 has an ear infection now. He woke up 1am yesterday crying in agony and didn't sleep again for more than 10 mins until 4pm. I dosed him up with calpol and nurofen and we went to the dr's 1st thing for antibiotics but it took until 4pm for the pain to get even slightly better. Poor boy was begging me to help him. He's so much better now and slept all last night.
Poor darlingI suffer with terrible ear infections regularly twice a year, have done all my life so I feel his pain
I had the doctors this morning so I've now got to sort out my sick notes. It seems that both work and the social want them but I've decided the social will get the originals as they're the ones paying me now
Cats fed and have all disappeared  DW on, airer emptied and put away.

Managed to do a load of washing today and get on line, and load dishwasher before going to hospital this morning for an investigation op. Was hoping to feel ok when I got back to catch up on my flyinging but am feeling agony, so will try again tomorrow.
Holly I hope your poor DS2 is pain-free today. Poor chap, I feel for him - been there, done that.:o
Greenbee haling vibes for you, too.:o
Just need to throw a duster round the spare room today, and if I can manage it, I'll clean the window in there. I did the one in the bedroom yesterday, and the cloth came away black, but that's because we burn incense every night, The spare room window shouldn't be as bad.
The black bag for worn-out clothing not re-usable as cleaning cloths was full, so Mr LW took it to the textile bank earlier in the week, so I'll have the crate where I keep that bag, the shreddings bag and dead batteries and water filter cartridges to go for recycling down and give it a good clean too, I think, while it doesn't have anything heavy in it.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Thanks for all the concern about Ds2. He's feeling so much better. I haven't actually done any flying yet. My stomach is now feeling a bit dodgy. Off to put the washing out then i'll make us some lunch.0

Hope your little one is better now holly, and hope you are feeling better now greenbee.
So much for my 'productive day' - phoned my mum this morning as I know she's been poorly with a cold - she happened to let slip that she's had chest pains earlier in the week and now has swollen ankles and a painful lower leg, her chest also feel 'tight' when she breathes. I got on to her GP (she moved 140 miles away a few months ago so not much else I can do!) and they were very helpful, a doctor should be phoning her soon for a chat and possibly a home visit, which the warden at the flats is looking into. I feel awful as when she was living nearby I could always go to her and get things organised - my sister is doing things for her now but it's strange not being able to do anything! Will have to wait and hear the outcome.
In the meantime I've managed to tinker around the kitchen and bathroom and get those up to scratch - living room next - hopefully the carped will get shampooe'd today - always good when you have dogs!
Hoping to get in our bedroom later and make a difference to it - I have at least got the sheets off, washed and dried - of course a certain dog thought it would be nice to put his muddy paws on the mattress protector and quilt cover so they are washing now - fingers crossed I can ge tthe hoover and duster up there (both badly needed!)
Ooooh, and lunch would be good too - DH is on a half day so might get even more tidying done!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j
:heart2: RIP Clio 1.9.93 - 7.4.10 :heart2:I WILL be tidy, I WILL be tidy!

Sagaris do not beat yourself up; you've got things underway to get the Doctor involved, and that's a good thing. I hope your mum is OK, and that it's not anything serious.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Greenbee.. I would fill up the bath with soapy water.. sling the duvet in... trample on it like grape crushing and leave it to soak... rinse a couple of times leave overnight to drain and fling over the line to dry.. I have done it a few times with mine in the past.. it is a giggle if nothing else!
Done nothing today.. nail appt at 9, osteopath at 11 then to B&Q then to pub for dinner
We have bath sealant, wallpaper paste and picture frames.. I have guillotined the edges off the pics and put the pictures in.. off to play with panel pins shortly to get them on the wallI am thinking of trotting about the house putting up pics now..
DD2 in a strop because she left her phone at school.. it is locked in a teachers drawer.. serve her right for playing with it in class... lesson learned do we think?
