Unusual Hen Party

Help!! My other half has planned his Stag (even tho we don't marry til September!) and it's got me thinking about my hen do. I really don't know what to do. The whole wedding is on a budget so my hen needs to be cheap. Also, I want to include my older relatives. Most importantly, I don't drink, so a night out clubbing on cocktails is my idea of hell!

Any ideas for something affordable and fun that's inclusive of most people and doesn't involve copious amounts of alcohol?!? :A
Thanks in advance!

what about an afternoon tea party at some ones house/the local cafe? the cafe maybe able to shut just for you on a quiet day for an hour or so
if you do it at someones house you could all get your nails done for the big day or something
I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p

I must admit i intend to have a few cocktails but like you i dont want to have a traditional style hen. We are all going out for a meal. Some of us are staying in a hotel but are sharing rooms and have booked early to get a good price. The hotel has a pool so will all probably have a swim in the afternoon before the evening meal. Everyone is paying for themselves.
  • No ideas for hen sorry but do you mind sharing what your fiance is doing for his stag?
Saving for our next step up the property ladder
  • Have you got one of those pottery painting places near you - that's fun and covers all ages.

(And I assume you do really want a hen rather than feeling obliged to? I didn't have one, it was bliss)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • One friend arranged a dance class for all of us on her hen do, that was good fun.

Or what about a jewellery making class?

I know you can do them in London

but I think you will find a lot of places do them now, there are bead stores in a lot of towns now and many of them run classes

I don't drink either & I had a girly sleepover at home :) We had the xbox kinect, some DVDs (which never got watched!) and just time to be together :) People could bring whatever they wanted to drink because I made it clear I wasn't footing the bill & we all had a takeaway. It kept the budget down & we had a fantastic night! Even those who were sceptical & thought I should have had a big night out on the town :)

  • see if there are spa treatments/beauty treatments available near you on groupon or living social.

But I must say, I like the idea of a tea party, but depending on when you want the hen, a picnic/BBQ could be good - get everyone to bring something

  • Spa Day? Or go and see a show / musical at the theatre? You can get really reasonable theatre breaks. It depends where your interests lie.
    Nice restaurant?
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???
