Is it a Honda warranty? If not its hamster bedding.

Way overpriced, Personally i wouldnt pay anywhere near that for a 2003 car.

Maybe lots advertised for that sort of money but only a few have sold on ebay and for half
    that money.

Loads in autotrader from £2000+ Even a 2004 for £2150.

    Your money.

That Civic has a 1.7 Isuzu diesel engine, not a Honda.

The newer Civic from circa 2005 with the Honda 2.2 diesel engine is much better. As per the previous post, I think that, that car is over priced. Find an '05 with a Honda diesel for the same money. The 2.2 Honda engine is absolutely cracking.
  • Way overpriced. £4.2k for that 10 year old car ?

I seem to recall reading about excessive oil consumption in the Honda 2.2 diesel but maybe that's been cured. Anyone else heard of that?
  • I think its a bit too expensive.

The model though is excellent, far more comfortable and reliable than the silly thing that followed it, a joy to work on, durable and reliable.

You won't buy one of those for Focus, Astra, Golf, 307 money because the car is far higher quality build and fetch prices accordingly, along with the Corolla of its time the medium hatchback of choice for those who want quality and total reliability.
  • Thanks everbody for your input. The car was sold this weekend and it had only been on the forecourt
a week so now I'll iook for something else.
    Thanks again.
  • Older Civics will keep their value certainly. Wife has an auto petrol one and they are rock solid reliable and should outlast similar spec Vauxhall's/Fords etc. Engine is sweet as a nut and loves a stretch out although not particularly quick as such but certainly smooth.
Huge amounts of room inside especially in the back with the flat floor and big legroom. very practical small family car

Saying that it does sound overpriced for an 03

The wife used to have a Civic with the 2.2. She used to do about 35K a year (although it was changed every 6 months) and I never had to put a drop of oil in it. And she used to drive it hard.

I bought a 54 plate for just under £4k 2 years ago, so it is overpriced.
They still sell for between £2500 - £3500. They are great cars, I have been to Bridgend and back today (from Walsall) and got 65mpg out of it. It isn't a Honda engine, but its still very good. It's comfortable (I'm a tall, big guy) but I do long for the day I can have a bigger car again (I'm hoping I can get a new shape Accord in the next 18 months).

But I'm sure you could get the newer shape for around £4k now. The 2.2 engine is awesome...
