Recently my old freeview broke down, I replaced it. Now I want to dispose of my old broken freeview box. Now I would prefer it go to some use, rather than just taking to the dump. Anybody know of anywhere I can donate it? I live in Sudbury, Suffolk.

Try freecycling it? Or even Ebay? It's incredible what some people will buy.0

If it's broken it's highly unlikely that anyone will want it, though the remote control might get a couple of quid if that's working.
Your local tip should have a separate section for domestic electrical appliances - put it in there and it will (in theory) get recycled.0 -
Just remembered a Recycling charity place that may be able to take it.
This was like charity that helped disabled people.0 -

Recycling of electrical good is very hit and miss depending where you live and I don't know about Suffolk.
It's specilised and quite labour intensive and not many places do it. In areas that don't have the facilities stuff will end up in landfill or in some cases stockpiled in the hope that facilities for recycling become available before the space to store stuff runs out.
While the situation is improving, it's becoming big business, it's taking time getting new facilities up and running. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0
