no hot water / heating - ideas?

hello

we have been without hot water / heating since the end of december / start of january.
we rent the property but our landlord has a homecare agreement... british gas have been round a few times to try to fix the problem but it hasnt worked so far - so we've had no warm water or heating for the whole of the winter.

does anyone know where we stand with this? can we get a refund from british gas? (as we're still paying bills) or ask for money back from our landlord? it doesnt seem right that we are paying full rent for a property without these facilities.

Also... does anyone know how to fix our heating and water?!! hehe.

we cant really take any more time off work to stay around and wait for the engineers and even if we did the chances are that it wouldnt get fixed again.... argh!

messy.

Any ideas are appreciated!!
