The 'Recipes for Wealth' book arrived this morning.
Just had a quick scan, and it seems to be just what I need (I have a lump sum to invest).
I will come back later and do a proper review, when I have had chance to read and digest the info (am in bed with a bad dose of terminal flu atm, :pale:
But at first glance.... the format is easy to use - big A4 pages, spiral bound, with handy summaries in boxes (just noticed, the info about stamp duty is wrong - still got the pre-budget figures - trust me to spot something like that
The book is divided into two main sections, Property and Investment (with a small section at the back about managing your cash - which I missed on my first flick through - but on first glance probably doesn't tell MSE'rs any more than we already know from the site). The investment section is further subdivided into step-by-step guides accordig to age group (under 40; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+). I am going to hit the big Five-OH this year, but am not typical having already retired due ill-health, so I will probably skim read all the sections but concentrate on 50-59 and 60-69.
Right at the back there is quite a large section giving info about individual fund managers. But I suspect this bit is likely to go out of date quite quickly and I'm hoping that the Citywire Site will have updated info on this (haven't checked yet though).
I think this is probably going to be the sort of book that I will read through once to get a feel for it, and then dip into it for advice/info as I start to put some of the ideas into action.
I really am very grateful for this, as it is exactly what I need to guide me through the decisions I need to make at the moment :T
Anyone else recieved their copy? What do you think?
