Glazed Chimney Pots

Hi,
I have several glazed chimney pots (king design) which have suffered some glaze damage, I would like to bring them back, to as close as possible, to their original look, anyone any ideas of how to do?
I know that some people restore the look of terracotta floor tiles with boiled linseed oil & something else but don't know whether this is applicable to chimneys that have been taken down from roof.
