How do I accept Paypal for P&P and cash or cleared cheque only for collection.

I have a number of heavy items (guitars and amps mainly) for sale. I want to offer both collection and posting but I want to encourage collection as I really don’t want to spend hours packing and lugging heavy items to the PO.

I want to accept Paypal for posting to confirmed addresses and cash or cleared cheque etc for collection.

I do not want to risk accepting Paypal and allowing the buyer to collect.

How do I list this and stay within ebay and Paypal rules?

Thank you. :)

Just put on your listing something along the lines of 'cash only on collection'

I have read on here that ebay frown on anything that appears to solicit paying by cash. Maybe I am confusing that with soliciting the sending of cash in the mail.

Can one of our resident experts clarify this please. :)

That would be sending cash in the post. Ebay is fine with Cash on Delivery.
  • Why not use payperdrop or selective2007 or similar on ebay?

    You're a regular around here lately, I can't believe you didn't know this :)

Yes, cash on collection is fine. Don't let your listing confuse anyone into thinking that you accept cash in the post.
