Can you get the water level far enough below the damage to get the surrounding area dry? If so, I'd use either Purflex or Sikaflex (or similar) polyurethane sealant.
These sealants are used to fix windscreens into cars, and they are extremely durable as both adhesive and sealant.0 -
Thanks for advice will try to get some sealant and get it fixed at the weekend if its fine.
The water level has settled beneath the split and easy accesss.
My own fault when it froze I broke the ice with the garden hoe as it was too thick to just
use a stick.YouGov

Doh!
You may need to empty a bit more out so that there's a dry area below the split, just to make sure there's enough overlap all round.
Incidentally there have been a few listings recently of Sikaflex on ebay cheapish as they are close to expiry date - £6 a tube instead of the £10 you'd normally have to pay.0 -
aquarium sealant is better, it's cheaper and it's fish safe too and won't leach anything harmful into the water.
