compare hol costs- S France v Costa Brava v Mallorca?

f11

I am trying to decide between various areas and really thinking about how much it will cost us when we're there. We can save on flights / car hire by driving to south of France / Northern spain and do independent apartment rental, but wondered if anyone has experience of how expensive these different areas are?
- France - Languedoc-Rossillon
- France -Cote d'azur (La Londe des Maures/Le Lavandou rather than st tropez!).
- Costa Brava - around Calella Palafrugell / Pals / Tamariu
-Mallorca - p pollensa, cala d'or, Col S Jordi,
-Ibiza round Es Cana / St Eulalia

I'm thinking the belarics cheaper when we're there, but flights for 5 are SO expensive in peak season esp when you add on baggage charges etc.
We won't be extravagent when we're there - supermarket shopping for self catering etc - but inevitably will end up shelling out for ice creams / drinks / odd meals out etc.
Has anyone got experience of how prices compare in these areas?
(There was a post office survey which said spain cheap, but I think the bit of costa brava we want is possibly dearer than the other bits of spain??)
Thank you!
