Solicitor has come back and said it doesn't matter re: date so just waiting on More Than, suppose these days you don't really expect "7-10 days" to mean just that, but they must work on a batch printing process.0

Rang more than yesterday and they agreed to fax details to the solicitor last night.
More good news today, exchanged contracts today and the insurance docs (postal copy) also all arrived at once. I assume the solicitor no longer needs a copy?
Out of interest (if anyone knows the answer), our solicitor took a cheque from ourselves for roughly £20,000 (purchase price £125000). From reading on the forum, am I right in thinking the solicitor only sends 10% at the point of exchanging contracts? Must be a nice interest money spinner for them, given that we don't exchange until May!0 -
I don't think they're allowed to keep any interest on the money while they hold it.0
