Problems Validating windows....

Just setting up a new pc and can't seem to download anything that needs windows validating.....

Tried to do windows defender and media player 11 and although I can download them, when it comes to installing them, it requires validation and it just seems to 'hang'

I have a valid new XP and have the product key etc

Anyone any ideas ??

Thanks in advance

If its a genuine key then there is a problem on microsofts side, so give them a ring and they should be able to provide an answer to your problem.

By the way, if you installed that xp on your old machine and decided to buy a new one, or build one, then tried to install that copy of xp( even though it belongs to you) you would have the problem you suggest. See HERE. You would have to ring Microsoft and tell them you have changed your pc because say the other one blew...........
:confused:I have nothing better to do!!!!
