Air Transat or Canadian Affair offers?

Hi, we are visiting relatives in Calgary this summer and need to go in the summer holidays. I've been looking at flights on the Air Transat website today, and worked out it will cost over £2300 just in flights for me, hubby and our little boy - eek!

Does anyone have an offer code for either of the above companies please, or any advice on how to get these flights any cheaper?

Thanks in advance, Ruthie.

Flew with canadian affair a couple of years ago. When we got home saw we got have got 2.02 per cent with topscashback. Every little helps!
  • Not sure how soon you're looking to book, but you could try signing up to the email/newsletter thing on their website. I got sent a 15% off code recently which was valid all summer - unfortunately had to be used by 14 Feb so no use to you now, but they might send out something similar again if you can hang on a bit.

In case anyone is still looking and isn't signed up to themselves, I've just had the following in an email from Canadian Affair:

When you book and pay today for a return flight for travel 1st March 2012 through to 30th April 2013 you’ll save £30 return pp on every flight!

Insert promo code Welcome Canada or quote this over the phone to receive this discount.

Hurry Offers End 9pm Monday 2nd April 2012

Not sure if that's £30 off pp on each leg of the flight or on each return, but either way better than nothing!
  • I also got the WELCOME CANADA discount code yesterday; it takes £30 off round-trips but I've noticed that as an unpublished benefit it also takes £15 off one-way bookings.

I'd be very interested to hear if anyone's heard of any similar promo codes that will work on AirTransat.ie (Air Transat own Canadian Affair, all CA flights are now operated by Air Transat). We may be able to fly out of Dublin and avoid the UK APD, but I'd still appreciate any codes for the Irish website if they exist.

Ruthie, the best place to start your hunt for fares is matrix.itasoftware.com - it's bit like Kayak and Skyscanner, but it has much better reach to find fare availability. You can also search wide date ranges or multiple airports. Sadly I know from experience that it's very expensive to get to either Edmonton or Calgary; they're very remote cities and only a few airlines provide direct flights. You may find the best deal with one of the American airlines via one of their hubs in the USA.
