PC monitor suggestions

I'm looking at getting a new PC monitor and have a budget of no more than £250.
It's got to be minimum 24", preferably 27". It's also got to be nice looking as I don't want an ugly thing. I obviously want the best spec for my money.
Can anyone suggest a good monitor for the above requirements?

£250 is a lot these days for a home PC monitor, even for a 24"+ monitor. Here you can find over 100 of them:

Which one is best is pretty much subjective and most will have come from the same factory regardless of what brand badge is stuck on them. I buy a lot of monitors for work and it is really hard to know what will be good just by looking at specs - sometimes a monitor has great specs but the picture quality is dreadful, sometimes the other way round... its a bit of a lottery so I normally go for a brand I can trust and read some reviews. Most important is to ensure it supports the resolution and connectivity that you require.
If you want to spend a fair bit then maybe this:

If you want to save some cash then I'd be tempted by this:

Personally unless you're doing video or photo editing I'd say £250 is too much and I'd go with that LG as I tend to find LG panels are decent.
27 inch version here:

Also this is really neat, good spec and great connectivity (2 x HDMI, 1 x DSUB and 1 x DVI) and also includes speakers (which are likely to be crap but might be useful?).

I have bought several iiyama before and they seem decent.
Basically at your price range and fairly vague requirements (best spec for money) you have an enormous choice and I don't think there is any such thing as "best spec"... but you can pick up a fantastic monitor.0 -
Look at the price, the style, all with HDMI too

Read the reviews- great value0
