Call Divert-Sky beware.......

A few weeks ago we were having trouble with diverted calls from our landline to our mobile. I called Sky only to be told they have cut us off due to high call volumes, i told them my last bill showed i used £0 for calls as i use my mobile, they explained they had been having technical difficulties dating back to Sept 2011 and the call divert had not been registering calls correctly and they demanded i pay £168 there and then to have my phone connected! I was fuming as this was the first i had heard of this and explained we needed call divert for our business and had lost custom but Sky were not at all bothered and basically held me to ransom. I wasnt even given the chance to pay in installments. I have since got in touch with Sky but they just keep sending out the same generic email and and the same explanation, i asked why a letter had not been sent out but they couldnt answer that either so beware if you use call divert!

I would drop them at a heart beat were that the case. There are plenty phone companies out there to choose from.

Why should you expect calls to be £NIL???

You do realise that you are meant to pay for the call divert part?? The person who calls your landline pays for the land line call. You then pay for the call from your landline to your mobile. That's the way all call divert calls work and always have no matter what operator you use.

Yes it's a bit naughty of Sky to want payment for something you've used after 5 months when they do monthly billing but they do have up to 6 years to ask for payment!
  • Yes i realise i pay for the calls but i thought the calls via divert were in one section and the calls i made from the landline in another i pay nearly £100 a month to Sky as it is so thought these calls were included. A person at Sky said they can only go back 125 days. I am just warning other people as i pay on time and then to be cut off with no warning is disgusting.I thought they would at least have the decency to contact customers affected to explain what had happened but i have had nothing! My 12mth contract is up with them in May so i will be looking elsewhere for a better deal.

    Shouldn't be using Sky then:
2.1 Sky Talk is for your household’s own private domestic use and is not for use for any commercial or business purpose. You are responsible for all calls made using Sky Talk at your Address, whether or not they are made by you.

2.2 If your use of ‘unlimited’, or ‘no EXTRA charge’ calls provided as part of a Sky Talk Calls package exceeds that reasonably expected of a reasonable person using the Sky Talk Service for domestic purposes, we may:

    (a) restrict your Sky Talk Calls service; and/or

    (b) charge you Sky Talk’s standard rates as published in our latest tariff guide for any calls exceeding those reasonably expected of a person using Sky Talk for domestic purposes.
