Know about claiming travelling expenses to Job Centre?

Yes, this is the case about childcare. Of course I'm actively seeking a job, I cannot afford to not work and hate the fact that I have to sign on, I'm doing it for my family, if it were just me and my husband I would just not eat, but I can't starve my children and they grow out of their clothes what feels like constantly.
I can't afford to place them in childcare when I'm not working, and I'm expected to sign on at 2:30 in the afternoon, which makes it hard to get back to pick my daughter up from school on time at 3:15. Plus the cost of getting there when you have absolutely no contingency is a shame.0 -
Might be worth getting this confirmed also, with a one year old I assume you were on maternity leave for some of the time they will look at - tax years 09/10 and 10/11. (unless you are the dad of course) If you don't have sufficient NI for CB JSA, you will not get a payment for IB JSA if your partner works more than 24 hours or earns over £106 per week.
If the child benefit is in your name you will get your stamp paid without having to sign on
I was on maternity leave but paying a small amount of NI of a couple of pounds per month, would this mean I wouldn't have paid enough for Contribution paid JSA?

Child benefit and Child Tax Credits are the state benefits that are paid for your childrens' clothes, clubs, treats. Are you claiming these?RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.
