  • This is a brilliant thread - most of all because I know now that I'm not alone in giving my animals lots of daft names :rotfl:

Oliver (tabby kitten) - Olly, Olly Purrs (I know ), Olly-Lolly-Pop, Captain Stripes, Sir Stripey of The Stripeyverse, Rabbity-Face (no idea where that came from), bleddy cat (ex OH's name for him :o)

Beaker (much missed black and white puddy tat) - Beagley Bee, Leetle Bear Face, Sir Beaky of Beakersville, Handsome Pud, Beakster

    :)

We had a Skye Terrier called Selwyn - name was given by RSPCA from whom we adopted him - I think they had recently had a visit from John Selwyn Gummer.

Our latest Skye is called Harvey - commonly written as RV or verbally called Ratbag !

    Ok here goes............

Sausage & Chips - Two border collie brothers :D But it gets shortened to Sos & Chippy on a walk.

    Missy - Staffy cross

Sage & Onion - Guinea Pigs

    Snowball - Rabbit

Hammy the goldfish! My son named of the film over the hedge.

    Buddy Snuffles the Hamster.

and Shannon my Irish horse :D
  • Our Akitas are called Kado and Yoki. I call Yoki my sunshine (I sing the song to her too!) princess or princess peach (she's round, golden and fuzzy!) I call Kado prince or my little one, which people laugh at because he is a big dog but he's still my little one.

Our cats are called Mary Jane (yes her previous owners did call her after cannabis!) nicknamed MJ, George nicknamed Gorgeous George, Tyger after the William Blake poem and because he has stripey markings, Michael nicknamed Stinky (he has a gas problem!) Tufty because he has big tufts of fur sticking out of his ears and Tiny because she is! Two of our cats have passed away and they were called Luke nicknamed Lukey and Tiggy nicknamed Tabby Toe because she had one tabby coloured toe on an otherwise white paw.

Our rats are called Blacky because he's black, Spikey because he has a marking like a spike, Houdini because he's an escape artist and Ferb. We got Ferb from a family who had called him and his late brother Phineas and Ferb after the kid's TV show.

Our rabbits are called Tilly and Bear after another kid's TV show because we got them from a family who were rehoming them after the kids developed an allergy.
