I thought LPG was more like 80p.

Cheeky site- just checked and no VAT included so +20%
  • I'm currently paying 66ppl for LPG, its 72p in the next town both incl VAT, both at independent gas suppliers in the midlands, if you buy from normal fuel service stations especialy MSA's that when you get ripped off.

A very slow site and the prices are only as good as the most recent member's update, but worth the time loading.

Best thing I have every filled my car up with.

    Hello
I am looking for a vehicle for the following specific uses:
    Company mileage (<2000miles/mnth) (farm tracks/fields/country lanes/normal roads)(Farm vet car)
Towing one horse & trailer (approx 1.6t) local & long distance....which is as economical as possible and reliable.

When did you pass your test and do you have Category E on your driving licence?

The answer to the above massively alters things.

Will you be towing on company business? If you are and the gross PLATED train weight exceeds 3.5t you'll need a vehicle with a tachograph fitted and have to comply with EU drivers hours regs so you'd need something that would keep you under that.
  • I have my B+E license.
I am responsible for VED/insurance/purchase/servicing etc.
Fuel will be claimed for business mileage, tax-free.
I need a large boot for work kit & passenger seats that fold forwards flat so my dogs can be in a large crate.
    Prepared to pay approx £10,000.

Skoda Octavia Scout perfect except seats don't fold flat & are few & far between plus expensive.
Really not keen on another large typical 4x4 unless I have to.
Need 4x4 for when towing horsebox over sticky fields, not so much for work.

As said economical/reliable & capable of towing 905kg+500kg combined essential requirements.

Most 4x4 combinations with those figures will take you over 3500kg.
Even the skoda is just over the top.

Are you going to be towing as part of a business activity? Will you be towing as part of your job?
  • No towing for work.
Found a couple of estates versions that are ok but too pricey (after speaking to VOSA to clarify re weights).
Any opinions re cars appreciated. Please do not take the thread onto weights/licensing.
    Many thanks.

It wasn't that - just that if the combination is plated over 3.5t you have to have a tachograph if its used for work.

And considering that weight limits for licence categories and certain requirements need to be fulfilled over certain weights then they're very pertinent to the point being discussed as it does affect what vehicle to look for.
