E-cheque advice please

Since updating my debit card with ebay/paypal, they insist on paying anything i buy with an e-cheque. I sent a refund last week to a buyer who had bought the wrong items, so i refunded - well i thought i'd refunded, just had an email update to say the refund had cleared Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Why are they doing this, can i change anything i've had a look at my profile, i'm verified, they have my bank account and debit card details why are they doing this.
I hate receiving e-cheques as a seller, i don't want to be sending them myself.

Helppppppppp:)

  • Have you checked the details you entered for the new card? Sounds like its not valid.

There is also a Link and Confirm My card. (Profile - My Money) did you do that?

Refunds, unless you have the money in your paypal account, comes from your bank account & takes days. I don't know how long it takes if you have a credit card on file.

The same has happened to me and I also changed cards recently.
I phoned Ebay and said that my customers were not happy because the last 2 refunds had gone as E-cheques. Paypal said that it was just a routine security check.
