PPI claim help please - Change in provider?

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if someone could give me advice as to how to proceed with my PPI claim.
I recently discovered I have been paying for PPI on my Sainsbury's credit card since 2007. This only came to my attention when I received a letter to advise that the provider of the PPI had changed/some of the terms and conditions had been amended. I discovered that I was not protected if I was on a temporary contract, which I was on when the cover was first 'sold' to me. At the time (and I remember making them aware of this) I was working through an agency for the company I am now working for full time. This was the case up until approx a year ago when my contract was made permanent.
Am I still able to claim back the PPI premiums paid, bearing in mind I wasn't aware I was paying for them, and also that this cover would not have protected me anyway?
Not sure if it makes any difference, but I've now paid the balance in full. It was sitting at around £1900 for about 3 years

If you have reasons for mis sell and the card number then put the claim in.
