Playstation Virgin here! How do i connect PS2 to TV?

Hi,

I've just bought a PS2 for my kids, and want to connect it up as a surprise for them, but don't know where to start...

Can I just plug it into a normal 14" TV?

Anything special I have to do?

Would it work on an old PC monitor I have?

Also, is it possible to get a 'Playstation stand/desk', as I don't want it lying on the floor, as it Will get stood on (knowing my kids lol)

Any help appreciated!

Hi there. There should be a couple of leads coming from the back of the Playstation. 1 is the power lead (to the wall), the other is a lead that you plug into the back of the PS2 and the other end of that lead goes to the TV. There should be no problem plugging it in to a 14" TV, as long as the TV has a SCART socket on the back, which looks a little like this shape

Just plug the SCART lead into the back of the TV and then on the front of the TV or on the remote select AV1 (Or AV2 if the back of the TV has 2 of the SCART sockets).

Sorry, the picture of the scart has not appeared how it should of above.

It is a long oblong plug, about as long as a cigarette and about as deep as the side of a cigarette box. It has lots of holes in the middle of it.
