The fruit trees are 2 for £7, it's the fruit bushes that are 4 for £5.
Still i good deal though, i'll make room to plant some more i think.

  • Long handled loppers look amazingly cheap compared to the garden centre and even Amazon, but are the tools worth buying? Has anyone bought tools and do they last a decent time? The walk-in greenhouse looks fun but would blow away in my exposed patch.
  • I have bought garden tools from Lidl and was surprised at how good they were. I would say worth giving the loppers a try.

Agree about the walk-in greenhouses - I lost another one which had been tied on to a wall, but the wind got under it and the frame twisted and snapped - have now given up.

Don't bother with the cold frame if you've got an exposed garden or indeed for anywhere that gets more than a slight breeze. It's flimsy and very lightweight.

I've had a fair bit of success with their fruit trees and bushes though. Can't complain there.

  • I've had a fair amount of their garden tools........loppers, secateurs, and the tree pruner/saw and they've been fantastic :D Never bought any plants from there, but planning on a looksee in the morning. I did buy seeds last year, not their fault I didn't get around to planting any :rotfl:

I popped into Lidl before work this morning and managed to get lots of things on my list. Got 2 each of the blueberry and raspberry bushes for our new garden.

I also got a polytunnel, fleece, netting, garden mat, hanging basket brackets, a few hand tools, spiral plant poles and kneeling mats (which are much better than the ones bought from the pound shop last year).

The telescopic loppers and hedge trimmers also looked very good.

Morning I have just come back too everything I wanted I got. Got 2 blueberry bushes quite nice did not have that many blueberry left but loads of the others.
Aldi does 3 fruitbushes for £2.49 but no blue berrys and they are a bit smaller.

Got the larger pots £9.99 very nice looking but made of plastic and you have to cut holes yourself. Will look nice with my black ratttan garden set.

Also got the fertiliser, gardening mats ( I am a messy potter) and the metal spirals at £7.99 very sturdy and heavy looks fab.

Also got a hibiscus plant at £3.99 spur of the moment seems to remember they are quite expensive.

I didn't get all I wanted... I wanted to get the garden track, as I think it would be great to go along my raised beds instead of mud/grass that it is now, I needed 7 packs to do this. Well, they had 2 packs in black and 3 in brown. After some deliberating, I decided to get all of them, and will try and do my best to get it work at least in one part of the garden.

Got the spiral poles as well and secateurs, the selection of ties/clips, and a couple of Dahlias. I had some last year, and they were beautiful. As the rain got too much here, we didn't have a chance to clear the garden before winter (it is still muddy and wet!!!!!!), so they stayed in the ground over winter. Maybe they survived - they were really nice.

I went this morning too, managed to get two of the standard roses and two raspberry bushes. Might pop back later to get a hibiscus and dahlias.
