hi there phoned my bank to see if i am entitled to claim back mis-sold PPI they told me to contact credit card customer service but they told me their records only go back 8 years my credit card dates back to 2001 when asked where to get the paperwork they only said no paperwork no claim so i phoned back my bank if they keep any records of agreement they said yes but my ppi was sold to me after credit card so i would not qualify for a ppi refund but surely the ppi still has been missold in conjunction with or without a card/loan or else.?any ideas of what to do.

That is not uncommon. Data is often destroyed after 6 years (the number of years varies).so i phoned back my bank if they keep any records of agreement they said yes but my ppi was sold to me after credit card
You dont need the agreement to make a complaint. That is just an internet myth. Especially in your case as you purchased it after the card was taken out.so i would not qualify for a ppi refund but surely the ppi still has been missold in conjunction with or without a card/loan or else.?
Couple of errors here by them and you.
1 - You havent given any indication of complaint or mis-sale. Just having the product doesn't "qualify" for a refund.
2 - Just because you bought the PPI after the card was taken out does not mean you cannot complain about whatever it is your complaint reason is (you dont say what it is in your post)
3 - you dont need the agreement.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. What matters is your status when it was sold. Not what it later changed to. Mis-sale relates to how it was sold. So, if you were employed at the time, then that would not be a valid complaint reason.
