Took Memory Card Out - Now Can't Get It Back In!

I don't know if anyone has any ideas on this. I recently took the memory card out of my Canon Power Shot A300 to tell my daughter the size of the card. It was a bit "tight" to get out, needed a good pull - it has probably been in there for coming up to 2 years or so, never had any reason to move it before.

Anyway now I can't get the flippin thing back in! It fits the little slotty things at the sides ok, but only goes in so far, leaving about 4mm stuck out.

(Why do I feel as though I am telling a dirty joke? I'm not, honest!)

I'm getting a bit desperate now and wondering if I will have to give up and replace the camera. If I do do you think this: http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/store/dix_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1247946873.1171928721@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdjaddkeiedgjecflgceggdhhmdgmi.0&page=Product&sku=620547&fm=2&sm=0&tm=0&tabIndex=3
is a good buy? Not got much cash.....

Of course getting the memory card back into the camera I've got is a much better MS idea.

Might be a silly question, but have you tried putting it in all ways (oooo matron!)

It will only go in one way!

I don't have a Cannon digital camera so don't know if it's the same but with my Fuji I have to slightly push the XD memory card in to 'eject' it. Maybe pulling it out without pushing it down first has dislodged something inside?

Maybe someone with the same, or similar Cannon camera will be able to help you more.

Your camera has a compact flash memory card which pulls out.. they are just over 41mm wide You need to look very carefully down in the camera slot to see if you have bent any of the pins in the bottom ..If you have PM me and I can tell you how you may straighten them.
