Benson Beds...Again

Purchased two beds and a mattress a couple of weeks ago spending just shy of £1500. Delivery was agreed on Friday 24th Feb, I got SMS a couple of days ago to confirm the time and date so I spent the day before breaking up old bed so we could sleep on the mattress on the floor to speed things up for delivery day as I am not very mobile after surgery with a broken ankle.
The warehouse phoned me up at 17.25 on the 23rd to say that our bed the superking size was out of stock and they do not expect deliverys till late April.:mad::mad:
Way too late for me to contact anyone but the shop who said they could not do anything about it as they were only the point of sale, but they would prioroty email customer services and they would call me first thing in the morning.
So I am now with my broken ankle scrambling around the floor to get to bed, something I thought I would only have to put up for one night. And also the very reason we went to buy a bed with the so called experts because of my surgery.:(
Funny thing is I can go on the website and order that very same bed with a 3-5 day delivery slot:rotfl:
Wonder if i will get that call!!!!! and what can I do????

Well I had to make the call
'They do not know their stock levels until they come to pick the order for delivery'. Thats after they take your money, give you a delivery date and confirm the date.
That was reply from customer services, I have had to take the bed in a different color so I dont have to wait untill end of April.
In the real world the computer system would know stock levels the moment before I handed over the money and would not sell you something they never even had. And it looks like I cant do a thing about it.
Shame on you Benson Beds0 -
It is safe to say Benson Beds is all about cashflow and stating they can deliver any of their stock in 3-5 days is just wrong - if they are advertising your bed as being available in 3-5 days and you know it isn't is may be worth a call to the ASA.
The easy option is to do some research, find out they leave a lot of customers unhappy and simply avoid them.
Having just used BHS they were honest - they don't hold any stock, it is far too expensive to have money tied up in thousands of beds which may or may not sell. They took our order, it was placed with the UK factory, advised it would be 5 or 6 weeks. It arrived after 5 and was made in Janaury 2012.0 -
bensons beds are awful quality too.
A few years ago we spend the best part of £500 on a mattress from them, 3 yrs later it was binned as it had collapsed.
The Mrs stupidly went back and purchased a memory foam mattress as the old mattress had died.... This gave us nothing but back ache and 'dead' limbs.
since th ebd was under 1yr old we phoned them up to complain and they said these where 'normal' for memory foam mattresses..
Anyone wanting to buy tat from bensons ? buy it from your local tip.. it will be better quality!
Also their bedframe's fall apart!Mortgage free wannabe!
Total mortgage = £106k
Monthly payments = £523
Extra monthly Payments = £500
Total extra paid in 2012 = £5000
