Zero Feedback Bidder

At the moment i have an ipod for sale on ebay, and one of the top bidders has zero feedback. The user has been a member since mid-december. Now while i'm sure that it likely a genuine bidder, is there any way i can protect myself?
Im probably being over paranoid about this  , but i want to be sure.
I have taken the serial number of the ipod incase of any possible problems, but is there also anything i can ask of the bidder that i can use to verify them?

Drop them a line. Ask them for a landline number... tell them you're just playing it safe as you've had trouble with auction wreckers. My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Thanks, yeh ill give that a try
Just out of curiosity, what "protection" would a landline number give me apart from sounding out the person?
Would this make the bidder more traceable?0 -
On any expensive items I have for sale, I state 'No zero rated bidders' - been burned too many times.
And if they do bid - I usually remove their bids. I'd rather sell and item hassel free for a couple of quid less, than to a new bidder who bids first asks questions later.
Its not being discrimanatory - just realistic.
Ive just had to delete 3 bids from 3 zero rated bidders who all asked questions AFTER they made their bids.0 -
Only post to a confirmed UK address would be my advice.0

Set up your profile which excludes bidders with a rating of less than 5 and no credit card.
Gives you a *little* more protection knowing they've had to register a card. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0
