Monthly money transfers to account abroad

Hello

Is there a UK based bank that allows simple monthly installments to be made to a bank account in Germany? All banks I asked charge a minimum of £10 per transaction for this service (relay payment). Interestingly a payment from a German bank to a UK bank only costs about 30pence. Relay payments require filling out forms and the provision of proof of idendity with every money transfer, i.e. are really only suitable for one-off payments.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

  • You can set up a foreign payment but as you have found it will cost you approx £10 per go.(Economy Payments)
It can also be set up as a standing order without you having to go to the bank each month.
Why not send sufficent funds to meet 3 months payments in one go if cost issue is a problem?
  • Thank you for your reply. At least I am reassured that there is no alternative but to pay for this service.

Why dont you open a citibank account in Germany and one here in Uk. Then you can transfer payments between the accounts free.
