But nobody with a BT line uses BT for calls - surely?Bigted wrote:They do recoupe the cost's of a line connection many times over by charging the most for making phone calls, probably one of the highest charging telecomunication companies in the world, thier profits are as obscene as Barclay's.
In any case, the cable companies (now just the one) knock BT's call prices into a cocked hat!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

You obviously have very little experience of other telephone companies - BT are one of the cheaper ones globally - even in the UK there are many telephone companies who charge more for calls (just look at cable companies)

I still have the letter, it was attached to my last bill dated 15.Feb.07. The letter is titled Keeping You Informed. It's quite clear in it's content.
Sorry you haven't got one, BT obviously not keeping you informed. I also use Talk Talk as well by the way.0 -

The charge comes into effect on the 1 May.
The information has been included in the booklets that BT have enclosed with their bills since January - if you are billed quarterly by BT you may not have received a copy yet..
