You'll probably find that there are still some things that you can do rather well, and some that you feel absolutely hopeless about.
But I've had 3 sessions now (so 3 and a half hours now) since Saturday morning, and I'm already feeling it having an effect again. The slight ache the next day or so is nothing compared to how it was the first time round, so my body must remember what it was like even after all these years.
So go for it. And tell us all about it!
The body seems to have an amazing memory for things like this!!
Have you noticed yourself walking taller and feeling lighter on your legs yet?I remember it kicking in after a few days (doing it daily mind you) of the intial aching.Seems to have quite an effect on how you feel.If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
My body has no memory and i think, very little elasticity at all these days!
But yes i will tell you how i am doing, thank you jojo.
I will not be going to classes. 1. I cannt get away from home too often atm, 2. I cannot justify the cost and 3. The fear, 4. I don't need to really.
There is another potential motivator in that a friends partner is an international yoga trainer and thinking of putting something on in the summer not so far away, and i do not want to stand and watch if it happens. I want to be able to join in a little...at the back0 -
I'm very lucky in that the bf is paying for my gym membership atm (his decision and i'm happy not to go) otherwise it would be a dvd at home for me... maybe that is worth a try, i'm sure you will remember some of itBecame Mrs Scotland 16.01.16

I do tend to have horrendous neck pains - it's the worst thing about the hypermobility, as it is really hard work to keep my head on - but last night, I slept really well and had no difficulty getting comfortable. (Used a fleece blanket as a neck roll rather than a pillow).
Not quite walking taller yet, but I can feel where my pelvis and backs of my knees have loosened up.
I didn't want to overdo it by doing loads everyday in the first week and do myself a mischief, but I do stretch quite a bit every morning in the shower to get moving.
ETA: just bent down to unload the tumble drier and the usual explosions in my knees just didn't happen. That's, well, unheard of!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

That's excellent
How long are the sessions you are doing?
I actually think yoga and pilates are the most underestimated form of exerciseIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

Hour and a half on Saturday morning, an hour on Tuesday and Thursday.
Have to admit, I'd like to see some of the people who dismiss it cope in a class.
And if I keep it up, the way I mean to (longterm), I won't be complaining about the figure changes!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Better figure changes than with some exercise!!Toning and shaping rather that getting rid of those curves!!!
I only do 20 minute sessions, guess that's why I can do it daily..hour and a half daily would be way too much lol Even the 3 sessions a week would be a push from now!May attempt some longer ones thoughIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
I do Zumba a couple of times a week when I am at home and our instructor has become a Pilates instructor too (lord only knows where she finds the energy!) but because of the way I work, I can't sign up to a full term of classes as I would only benefit from half of it, although I am going to email her and see if we can come to an arrangement!
I did yoga when I was in college last and loved it. I did it mainly as a way to relax and switch of from studying constantly but the I am in the same situation with the yoga classes at home and I don't know the instructors so I would feel a bit cheeky asking to do half a term and then !!!!!!ing off for four weeks. Might email them as well though because if you don't ask, you get.0 -
Still haven't started properly, but while i was making tea. Today i felt the urge to do a wobbly and creaky warrior pose. Not much, but just trying felt good
after wards i felt just a little less creaky, taller and straighter.
