On the standby screen press the volume down button on the side of the phone to 0 to stop keypad sounds. Oops that works on the 3050, not sure about the 3350, worth a try I guess.

They're usually found in two places, in the settings menu under sound profiles.
Reading the not so clear manual it is under menus, and customisation, or customise your phone. somewhere in there should be an option. Maybe to only adjust the volume, but hopefully it'll have a zero volume option.

( i recommend always to find the online manual and download it. It's so much easier to search. The paper ones lack this function :()

^ That on every phone I've had has just muted the phone. It turns all the sounds off, including the ringer. Unless that particular samsung phone works in a different way?

    Taken from the online manual,

    ››
Adjust the volume of the key tones
In Idle mode, press the Volume key up or down.

Full link here page 19. Drove me mad trying to silence the keys on my old 3050, took ages to find the answer then, so stuck in my mind.

I used to have a Samsung for personal use and a Nokia for work, drove me crazy the little differences, 0 for a space on Nokia, # key on Samsung, amongst others grrr. Samsung use the # key to switch to silent, no ring mode.
  • thanks for replys folks.

do i have to press the volume key each time i turn the phone on/off?
seems so or is there another way to disable it forever? driving me mad now... feel like chucking the thing.

I think that you have the same phone as me. Go to "settings", then "phone profiles". Whatever profile you use will be highlighted, click on the arrows pointing to the right. Click on the drop-down menu in the top right-hand corner to "phone sounds." You can't mute the keypad tone (mine says beep or glossy) but if you scroll down the the bottom, you can use the slider to turn off all phone sounds.

You can also turn off the annoying start-up tone!

  • the samsung chat is the worst thing. how on earth do i turn the sounds off when going through the menu?

Thanks barbiedoll but there are no arrows to extend the sound profiles
    menu.

don't know what to do know other than to chuck it under a car.
