Trade in tax advise

I recently traded in my car which is due to be taxed on the 1st March.

The dealer we traded it in to does not become the owner, the new buyer would be.

What if it has not been sold by then?

The reminder has come & we are unsure what we need to do.

if you have the sold into the trade slip duly filled in
photocopied for reference
and posted to swansea via registered post
then you have no worries
dont forget to cancel the insurance on it and give 6 weeks for dvla confirmation letter you no longer are the registered keeper

We have not posted a copy of the trade in to DVLA, will do that first thing tomorrow.

Our insurer cancelled the insurance the day we picked the new car up as they could not match the best price we found for the new car.

Did you send the slip off from the V5 saying you sold it to a dealer? If not expect more paperwork from the DVLA.
