Online shares - where you are a member of CREST

I am looking for a cheap way to deal with shares online - but I want to be member of CREST so I receive copies of annual reports etc.

I currently use the share centre - nice and cheap - £7.50 per tans action - but no CREST option.

I deal around once a month.

Any ideas?

Stocktrade (Brewin Dolphin) provide Crest based online dealing. Their dealing charges are rather more expensive than some other providers.

You can often download copies of annual reports online for free from the company's own website. I have just tried using google and easily found the annual reports for the first three FTSE 350 companies that popped into my mind.

There are some downsides to having a CREST account, e.g. you cannot use a sponsored CREST account to hold shares in an ISA. Also there is usually an annual fee of £30 to £40 with most brokers. Have a look at this article for more details: http://www.candidmoney.com/questions/question178.aspx
