Front Door Intercom/Video?

Hey all, hope you're well,

My front door at home has no peephole and there's no easy way to know who's rang the doorbell without opening the door. Even if there was a peephole, we also have a stormporch which is slightly angled, so I don't expect we'd be able to see much in any case.

I was hoping to install an intercom which allows video and 2 way audio. Having done a quick search on Amazon, they seem to be fairly pricey, upwards of £80!

Does anyone know any particular brand or model that's good? Some of these have night vision which would be useful.

For some reason the video intercom systems do seem very pricey. I was looking at getting one myself. However, I'm thinking of installing a camera instead which has a mic and some have a speaker built-in and use this as an alternative.

Is there a website that sells good quality ones at reasonable prices? I wouldn't be 100% at buying it from Amazon!

The DC-1000 is just a long range wireless doorbell. It does not provide audio or video intercom facilities.

Can you provide a link to a DC-1000 that has an audio and video intercom facility? The ones I have seen online are just for a long range doorbell.

Also places where the said doorbell/intercom can be purchased in the UK?
