RBS Quick Deposit question

Hi

This might seem like a really silly question, but I've never used RBS Quick Deposit envelopes before except to put money into my RBS bank account.

On the front of the newer ones it says

You can use the Quick Deposit to -
  • Deposit cash and cheques to any RBS account
  • Pay bills - Just include the tear-off credit slip from the bill

Does the "Pay bills" mean any bill you have that's got the giro type slip or are they referring to only RBS bills - credit card etc?

If you can use it for paying a bill with another company, do you fill in the boxes on the other side asking for your sort code and acc. number?
On the one hand I'd think that'd be required so they know they're processing the bill for one of their customers, on the other hand I thought those boxes might only be for if you're putting money into your RBS Account and look like you're trying to make a bank deposit.

Thanks

you can use it to pay any bank giro credits on bills regardless of whether it is an RBS bill

you don't need to fill the boxes on the deposit envelope (this allows deposits to be made without a paying in slip at Nat West)

It would be wise to use an RBS cheque to pay the bill , I would not risk using cash or a cheque from another bank

You can't make deposits to an RBS account at Natwest without a preprinted credit (deposit) slip.
