Lloyds TSB cc PPI claim - no signed agreement?

Hi there,
I wrote to Lloyds TSB last week requesting a copy of my CCA for my credit card with them. I do not believe I agreed to the PPI being added on and I also have a pre existing medical condition which is usually the only reason I am ill, so that would have meant I wouldn't be covered anyway.

I received a reply from Lloyds today - they have sent me a 'reconstituted version of my executed agreement' and they say they've now satisfied their obligation to provide the copy. They have no copy of the original signed agreement (which they say they are under no obligation to provide).

So from what they've sent me there's no evidence of me agreeing to the PPI, there's no signature from anyone on what they've sent. The letter says they'll not be 'entering into any further correspondence' with me about copies of agreements.

So, where do I go from here? The copy they've sent also doesn't have any date on - I'm not sure exactly when this cc was opened - I'd gues ay around 8 years ago, but can't be sure and they haven't given me the date either.

Thank you for any help:D
I really need to sort out a new signature!

They are correct. The courts agreed a couple of years ago that a reconstituted copy was adequate.

I dont know why you want the agreement anyway. Its not as if the PPI appears on there anyway. It wouldnt help you in any complaint you want to make.

Its a reconstituted copy. So, there is no need for a date.

If you have a complaint then make it. Dont faff around with pointless information.

  • Ok, sorry - I thought I needed to obtain info that showed I had agreed to the PPI:o
I will carry on with the complaint. Apologies for asking silly questions;)

There are a few internet myths and misinformation out there (often caused by porkies told by claims companies). The agreement requirement is just one of them. So, it is no surprise you have that view. However, you require nothing to make a complaint as long as you know what your complaint is.
