cost of calling french 0825 nos from UK?

A friend's in hospital in France. The hospital has an 0825 no. They say I can call it from abroad using +33 825 etc but I imagine that this would be an expensive call on a BT landline? How can I find out the cost per minute please? (incl connection).

Would any of the override operators work to an 0825 no and how would I find our their charges please?

Just a thought - could you google the hospital in France and check if there is a landline number given?

thanks OPR - I emailed them and got a sniffy email telling me that I should just call the 0825 with 33 in front of it!
0825 is the same as 0870 here from within France and I can't see on BT's charges what it would cost via them (or an override)

Try using one of the 0844 overide numbers. If you get through then you cannot be charged any more than the advertised 0844 rate for France.

Just tried an 0825 number via Skypeout. The rate quoted on screen is €0.17 pm. This won't necessarily be quite so cheap via BT but probably bearable given the circumstances. Perhaps make one call and then see what the damage comes to via the online billing service?

I also had a go via 18185, but they don't offer calls to these specialised numbers.

Sorry I can't say with certainty as I left BT nearly four years ago, but I seem to recall that unbilled calls came up within a day or two. Someone else on the forums is bound to know.
