I'm asking this as the big day is 1st March for us (ie next week) and I know my DD will want to know as soon as possible if she's got her first choice place.
Can anyone remember, if they applied online, what time of day they received their email decision? was it on the day it was expected to be, was it late/early etc?

DS must have got his around 8.30 am because I know he was able to go in to school and share the news, rather than wait until the end of the day.
Good luck to your dd ( and you ) balletshoes0 -
Hiya balletshoes,
i'm in leeds and last year ours came out in several batches through the day. We worked out later that it had been alphabetical order of the school name. My daughter got our 1st choice school (school name starts with H) and the e-mail was with me at 2.55pm (just checked my outlook for you - didn't actually remember the time lol!) Most of her friends were going to school starting A and they had theres early on. I was worried then thinking that those who had their choice had got e-mail, but not us!! Was relieved to get the e-mail later on! Think a good few knew before school so first batch must've been e-mailed out at about 8am ish!
Hope that helps & good luck!:beer:0 -
Hope you get what you want Balletshoes, we're waiting on DD's too. She 'should' get a sibling place, but I'm not banking on it until I get the email/letter in my hot little hand.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Every area varies. Last time I went through this, we were able to look from about 7.00 a.m. We live near a county border, and children living in the other county were able to access their system from 4.00 p.m. the day before (i.e. the day letters are posted)
This year we are supposed to be able to access from late p.m. (the day letters are posted) - I can't remember the exact time. However, every year the system seems to crash and so I'm not holding out any hope of actually being able to access the system at the time they state. Last time, I just had to keep trying and eventually managed to access it. Others managed to get on straight away and some didn't get on until late morning.0 -
We got ours at 5pm - It was a nerve racking day!
My dd didn't get her first choice, so we were disappointed at the time
However, I am so grateful she got the school she did - Its excellant, and she loves it
Everything happens for a reason

5pm was the time given to check the outcome on the website and for the e-mail to arrive.
The news was actually available earlier in the day, sometime between lunch and 5 from memory and I seem to recall receiving a text reminding me to log on with my log in details.0 -
thanks everyone - next Thursday might be quite a tense waiting day then
