halifax sent a letter to us to re assess previous claim from 2003 that was declined?? anyone else had this??

I believe they will have sent letters to other customers the same time, as they have to look into older accounts, and its good that they are also looking into an older declined complaint as well, fingers crossed.;)

I received a letter & cheque from halifax today for a PPI claim i raised for payment protection for a credit card i have had with them since 2006. however the letter states that in 2009 my account was passed to recovery so the claim has only been calculate from this date, not the previous three years... can they do this? If my account was passed to recovery it will only be due to a single late payment (which i dont recall)??
Any help on this would be appreciated

You need to find out why this was passed to recovery and why they will not pay the ppi you paid from the 3 years previous.
If you only missed one payment i don't see a problem.
