Hi,
Please can someone help, i have been on the phone half of the day to Indian call centres via virgin!!
Basically they have mucked up my free download of pc guard and cannot fix it.Turns out they have disabled instead of terminating the other stb line, so has caused no end of chaos for me. Thisafternoon they made me default all my pc settings along with endless other things i know nothing about incuding clearing SSL whatever that is.
Anyhow, now my hubby cannot access cdwow site. The page only loads a little bit and doesnt fit the page properly. Its obviously a setting but we dont know which one it is. I am close to boiling point with Virgin.
Please, can somebody help?
Cheers

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Windows xp sp2.
I couldnt remember how to find that, it did cross my mind.
Will it harm anything else. I would love to take it back to last night, then i can just uninstall the pcguard as well.
Would that interfere with my wireless connection at all?
Many Thanks

Lorraine, may not be much help but when I get an Indian call cenre I pretend (maybe not) that I can't understand them and ask to be put through to a UK centre, It often works.

LOL@sicker!! I have given up with them believe you me.
Now, Browtoa...i found system restore but it wont let me click on yesterdays date to restore! It will let me go the day before that, but i cannot do that because that is the day our cousin came and installed our wireless router and dont want to muck all that up...
Any suggestions please? If i click on todays date would that take me back to midnight, if so that would work but thought i would ask first.
Cheers

there are normally several restore point made on any day, the one taking you back to midnight will work
worse case it's a toss up between having a working pc with a wireless router that MAY need setting up again (the router settings are unaffected by the system restore) or a working wireless router and a PC that does not workEx forum ambassador

Hi,
Have managed to reset to earlier today. Thing is now the cdwow website is still the same...strange...and i keep getting windows installer keeps coming up with Freedom (something to do with pcguard) keeps trying to install it.
I have looked in add/remove but wont let me remove anything...argghhh.. at least my other settings have altered back to how they was.
So dont know what Virgin have done to cause cdwow not to work. I have had this happen last year with this site and know it was a setting, its just finding it. Working ok on the laptop.
Thanks
