ok ok, i know i didnt ask if collection was ok, BUT the seller lives 5 miles away, and i bid on 3 items, on 1 i asked if collection was possible and the answer was yes... so i 'assumed' (yes i know big mistake) i would collect all 3 when i won them.. i didnt account for mr ebay sniper.. he got me in the last few seconds and swiped a lamp and coffee table from my grasp.. so ok, i won the other lamp.. for £2.12... which is a bargain.. so i email 'when can i collect' and now surprise surprise i cannot collect this lamp and they want £9 postage.... but its not a bargain at £11.... i only bid on local things and the reason for this is so i dont have to be stung by postage..
now, she says i cant collect as this item is now at her b'friends house in castleford? (never heard of it) so postage please... trouble is how were the lamps pictures taken in the same spot in the house as eveyrthing else (background is the same in all the pictures) and i could of collected them?
was thinking of saying i dont mind if her boyfriend brings them up with him next time he comes to see her? i can collect then? or telling her that as stated in the advert 'location of item - ****' this is misdiscription and i dont want it any more? as it took her over 12 hours from end of auction to get back to me i assume she didnt want to sell it for £2.12 anyway...
any ideas?

Hi
Was the £9 postage indicated in the listing???
If so i would of sorted this out before i bid.
If it wasnt in the listing then i would tell your seller that you 're not going to complete the purchase due to the excessive postage cost.0 -
castleford is in west yorkshire0

Well she already agreed to collection so I would return her email with agreement on it to her and say unless she upholds her end of the bargain then she can go whistle for postage???Noli nothis permittere te terere

she will most likely argue collection in person was for the other item, sounds to me like she did not get what she wants for it and wants to squeeze a bit more out of you0

yeah, i feel like asking why she took the photos in her house then sent them to her boyfs !!! but thats a bit petty.. i think i will offer to wait till he is visiting her and bring them down with him, an dif she declines i might just pay it and say well i will be pretty mad if they come with a local postmark !0

Same thing happened to me awhile ago, won 3 dvd's 99p each, stung me for £10.50 postage as he would'nt combine.......and he lived 2 streets away from me :-)
Forgot to add, he sent them wrapped in a 'Next' carrier bag.....with £2.30 postage on it, and he was upset that I left no feedback, good or bad :-)0 -

Cripes... I wouldn't have the nerve to charge that!My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Your right in being petty ref, photo's being taken in the same room, I would point this out to her,(but thats me) and say that you will be annoyed, that if the items r posted with a local mark,(like you said) then dont expect a pleasant feed back response.
If you can collect one, why not the others, thats a poor excuse ref it being at the BF. If your not happy with the lamp, she can offer it to the 2nd highest bidder, so she wont lose out (only charge some other mug the high postage)
Keep at it, and dont her bully you into paying the p&pHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
It is irritating but strictly speaking the seller is within their rights as they did not agree collection on the items that you actually bought.
For the future do something similar to what I do. If I plan to bid on multiple items from one local seller I send them this.
“Hi, I am interested in a few of your for sale items. If I bid and win, I would like to collect to save postage costs and risks. I live in XXXXX. If I know I don’t have to pay p&p I will bid higher so you will not lose out. I will pay cash on collection or Paypal, whichever you prefer. I have collected many items before and my feedback of 100% demonstrates my reliability and trustworthiness. I am fully verified on ebay and Paypal and I have lived at my ebay registered address for 22 years. Is collection acceptable to you? Thanks.”
I have only been turned down once or twice. Most sellers agree and I have saved a lot of postage as a result.0
