Experian's 30 Day Free Trial

Hi,

I have been frantically trying to tidy my 3 credit reports up. They are all sorted with the exception of Experian. I was considering joining the 30 day free trial thing they do as I have heard that the trick is to cancel it before the 30 days are up and that way you wont be chanrged anything. I would like to know peoples experience of this and if it is really as easy as that to cancel because my luck is that it will be a nightmare and I will end up having to pay the £14.99. Also if I do join, will the report be live as the whole reason for me doing this is so that I can see as soon as the IVA has been removed without having to keep paying £2 a time and waiting a week for them to send me the pass key etc.

Thanks

  • I've joined the 30 day free trial and suprise suprise my IVA still shows on the Public Record part even though it should of dropped off on 30th Jan 2012. Still no response from Experian about this even though they received a copy of my completion certificate in Jan 2011. And I though Equifax were bad, it only took them 2 weeks in the end.

They are crafty, they take 30 days to do any updates so you end up subscribing.
  • Well I have finally received a response from Experian. It has taken them over two weeks to ask me to send my certificate of completion. The same certificate I sent them when my IVA came to an end at the beginning of 2011. I have again emailed them another copy of the certificate and a copy of the letter they sent me in response to receiving it in 2011. They have then sent me another automated email saying that they have 28 days to respond. Surely to god this isnt another 28 days starting all over again. Im going to ring them now! Rant Over.

    Hi Vicki,

I had exactly the same issue with EX.

That said, it does come off and stay off (eventually but within the 28 days), which is more than can be said for EQ, who managed to take it off correctly and have now put it back on after 2 months of being green :mad::mad::mad:. "oh, ever so sorry, we'll rectify that sir, within 28 days. ARRGGGHHHH.

Lock me in a room for an hour with these guys....

Now, now, no need for that.

Now where did I put that rifle? :D
