I backed up my files but can't get them back on my PC

Help please! I backed up all my files as I had my pc configured. now I can't get the files back on my PC. how do I do that? I put the disc in the disc compartment but nothing happened. I'm not to clever with my computer.

    Which operating system ? And what program did you use to back it up with?

    i've got a dell dimension pentium 4 ( is this the operating system?) and i'm not sure what program i used. I'm crap with this this pc and it's only when thing go wrong that I have to try and learn a bit more than just getting emails and surfing.

    that is the processor, the main 'brain' of the pc, the operating system will be something like windows xp or windows Vista

  • With the backup CD in your CD/DVD drive, open My Computer (either on your desktop or on the Start menu) and double-click on the CD or DVD drive shown there.

    Open My Documents and drag and drop files/folders from the first window onto this window.
