Evening All,
Just trying to work out costs for when we buy our first house - Can anyone recomend companies that will provide an online quote for the following:
Buildings (For quote purposes, do we use figure that we paid for house?)
Contents (FTB with no major expensive items, roughly how much should we insure for??)
Life (Any tips for these quotes?)
Should we get any other cover as we are clueless FTB
Many thanks in advance

buildings - get cover for rebuild cost...usually less that purchase price. The valuation you had done with the mortgage should give you a figure.
contents- just add up their replacement cost and go for that
life - you might need some of this...it sounds like you are buying with someone else, do you have dependants? if one of you died could the other maintain the mtge payments etc on one income? If not you need life cover
Also consider Income Protection...you are more likely to be ill than to die so what would hapen to your income if you couldnt work for 6 mths?
It sounds like you should take some advice as the financial consequenses of getting it wrong are very bigI am a director of Torquil Clark Life Insurance (formerly Life Policies Direct), a specialist protection broker.
