You know the one's, two for one deals, normally comparatively good food (for the price)...... can't complain right?

Wrong!

Had a bad experience recently!!!

For god sake save your money and STAY AWAY FROM THE BURGERS, seriously!! they're somewhere between cornedbeef, baby puke and dog food, utterly disgusting! They could at least add some burgerish flavouring!!

Speaking to the staff (who were very professional and friendly) it was revealed that complaints have been made over and over again for quite some time, up and down the country, but nothing has been done, they're not even allowed to warn customers away from these things (yes they really are THAT bad).

Strikes me some pillock tried to make a name for themselves at head office by sourcing cheap burgers and is covering their tracks by filing all customer complaints into the waste paper bin.
You know the sort, they come in, they f**k everything up (but look good doing it), then they leave.

Well congratulations, your now famous and i'll be spending my money at the nearest JD Wetherspoon's until Martsons wakes up and fire's the numpty responsible!

This is what happens when you ignore your customers.....

i stay away from those kind of outlets altogether...if they are cheap there is a reason unfortunately.

That isn't always the case, I agree with the original poster it is a shame as cheaper can be done very well.
The Burgers at Wetherspoons normal and vegetarian are fantastic for the price of 4.99 including chips and drink. The beef tastes great and is consistently good.

Exactly, burger and a beer for less than a fiver...... Proper beef burger too, so It can be done.

The offending item mentioned in my first post, was £8+ on the menu.

I've always considered Marston's pubs to be good value, reasonable quality food. There are 4 within 5 miles of my home. In the current climate, pushing crap food and forcing pubs to sell it, is just business suicide. I can't believe for one second that the upper management would let this carry on if they knew about it....

If anyone ever watches "undercover boss" on CH4, it's often shocking how the truth is actually hidden from the man/woman at the very top.

Myself, even if i'd got £2m worth of these things stocked up or contracted to be supplied, I'd take the loss rather than risk the reputation of the business..... But then I speak from a quality engineering point of view, different world altogether.
