How long for Debit card payment in Egypt?

I spent about £50 on my debit card when I was in Cairo on 10th December 2006 and it still hasn't been deducted from my bank. Does anyone know how long it takes?

    Very odd, personally I'd almost not want to call and just leave it to be honest but then my conscience would kill me

    OK I went in the bank to ask and they said that overseas DD's can take anything up to 4 months to clear. So I've got another couple of months or so to go yet.

    Not sure what's shocking about it; somewhat surprising, my card payments have always cleared in a few days.

    But you're the winner, just keep your £50 there and let it earn a bit of interest.

    Does that mean that credit cards are diff them when ever i buy from amazon .com (usa) the money is always taken out within a short space of time.
