Spoke to RBS this morning, they say that they recieved my signed form on 17th May and that they expect to make payment within 28 working days, although they say they are processing them quite quickly at the moment! Let me know Cupcake when you receive your payment? Will be interesting to see how long it takes!0

I had my acceptance letter on the 17th March 2012, RBS allegedly mailed a cheque on the 20th April which I never received, I am sick of the constant calls I'm having to make to get them to pay me, they have given me promise after promise that they will post a recorded delivery cheque but this hasn't materialised, it is now 7th June and I'm no nearer to receiving the cheque, they have given me the runaround for weeks, to be honest they must have been told to stall on paying out any money, how many others are being given the old yarn that the cheque is in the post. I have been promised a call back today from one of the team managers, I had the manager call me back a week back with assurances that the cheque will be posted asap but still nothing, My cheque is for £5039 so maybe anything over and above a particular amount will be put on the back burner
I am in a similar boat. After waiting ages for a reponse I called RBS to be told that an offer was sent out on the 30th May, that I never received. I was also told there were 6 cases (each with their own reference number) totalling over £18,000. So I was quite happy
They then said they will be re-sent. This was the 28th June.
I called them again on 4th July to be told that they were only resent yesterday (3rd July) and they can take 10 days. It is now the 10th July and I have received no official offers. I call them everyday just to vent, and I am told that they have been sent but I have to wait 10 working days before they can re-send them via recorded delivery.
This will take it to the 16th July. There is NO WAY 2nd class post takes this long. It's nonsense. After reading your post I am very pessimistic about it and starting to feel down. How can they get away with fobbing people off like this?0 -
Ask for the recorded delivery tracking number if /when they send it .....this will prove one way or the other if it was sent? It's disgraceful they are messing you around like this.0
-
They say they cannot do anything until the 10 days are up, which is next Monday (16th July). Then I will phone demand a tracking number.
I can't help but think I am never going to receive this money.0 -
Hi there, me and my partner are in very similar position,
Had offer for £14076 but loan is with Wescott since 2007, they offer early settlement at £10k full balance is £14231
Rbs kept my partners current account open so don't know what happens with the money, straight to them at £14£ or to Wescott at £10k? Am hoping to borrow some money like£5k to pay them off first to then get £14k back! Well frustrating busy!
How did you go through with yours?
Really need some advice and you have gone through same thing, hope you can reply soon
Many thanks0 -
Even if you partially satisfy the account by a reduced F&F settlement then the PPI can be offset against the full amount.0

I had rbs credit card and cancelled it back in 2002 after transferring to 0% card. How can I find out if any PPi was on this account ? I've phoned today but they say that they've no record of back then. Any ideas ?0

If you don't have any records yourself you can risk £10 on a SAR (data request) from the bank for all their records on you but as it's 12 years ago chances are they have destroyed it all.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
