Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file? What can I do?

Hello

I've downloaded lots of videos from youtube into Windows Media Player and have noticed that it won't play some of them?

A few are ok and they have the length of each video beside them, then others have nothing beside them only a red circle with an 'x' in it and when I click on that video it says 'Windows Media Player has encountered a problem while playing the file'

Not sure why this is as they played ok before, I've checked for updates and none available - what could be wrong?

Am just thinking did I delete the video from 'downloads' folder or maybe this shouldn't matter?

  • If it is youtube use http://youtubedownload.!!!!!!/ and save it , there are others available too.

Edited: You can also create playlists in VLC

Ok it says: All you have to do is go to Windows Medi Player (WMP) and kick-off your WMP Playlists, then resave the WPL as a m3u file in WMP - ie Save Playlist As .Then you can import this new m3u playlist to VPL no problem.

So I've saved the playlists as an m3u file in WMP but not sure how too import it into VPL?

In VLC I just opened the file where it was saved as an m3u file but it added them but won't play - says your input can't be opened? :(

Maybe I'll just have too download them again individually to VLC but I still can't seem too name a playlist as when I close VLC nothing saves? All the songs just show on one list whereas in WMP I had various playlists named?
