the 13 month discount was removed just after xmas. customers who were on will continue to get the loyalty discount for as long as they remain on the tariff. anyone who signed up on the atlantic site after the 13 month discount was removed will be on the 6% direct debit discount for each utility per billing. atlantic is the internet brand for SSE and i dont think its ever been on the comparison sites.

In 2010 at the end of my year that I had signed up to I was around £120 in credit with each of my gas and electric, they refunded that and also I had my 13 months discount at the rate I had paid it all year so I gained. 2011 they have been watching and reducing my direct debit to suit what I am burning, so no more extras.

I've been with Atlantic for years now, electric & gas. I've always had a 5% discount for paying by D/D and the annual loyalty payment, which in my case is £220.

Taking away the annual loyalty and giving a 6% D/D discount, seems that they save themselves a lot of money.

I, however, have no intentions of swapping from them, so will continue with my loyalty bonus each Christmas.
