    I'd try finding that .exe again, right click> properties> compatibility> change to XP sp3> apply. Could be worth a bash.

    Won't it just be a collection of PDF's? In which case it will run on any version of Windows using Adobe Reader.
    What needs to be installed?
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    this is a user manual, ive downloaded it myself, took 25mins,
    ive virus scanned it with avg
