Any advice please, I have had my panasonic phones for 2
months now, but starting this afternoon when anyone in
the house is on the phone the modem online lights go off
Then when they hang up it comes on again
I only know the very basics so I hope not a stupid question
but would appreciate any suggestions
The main phone is in the hallway and extension in living room
where the pc is, but nothing as been moved it as always been
in the same place

Are you using filters (assuming your Broadband is on your phone line)What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
 -
As above, you need a filter on every phone socket that has a telephone plugged into it ...0
 -
yes I have filters on the phone lines and it as worked perfect
until today, unless they have gone faulty0 -
This actually happens to me from time to time.
If you have filters on your lines, it could be that your base unit is too close to the router (which some speculate could cause enough electrical interference to knock the router out, even if it's not using wireless), or a line fault somewhere.0 -
thanks for your quick replies, I will try replacing filters
and see if it continues
It just seemed odd to just start0 -
Good point from Vyle, having the base phone of a DECT can affect the modem, we came across this effect the other day when at a customer's.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Have you tried just restarting your router? I had this happen a while back and decided to try it as I couldn't buy new filters for a few days, restarting the router worked and I haven't had the problem since0

I have just restarted the router and see how it goes
thankyou for your help it is appreciated

this is totally indicative of a line fault, most probably a hi-res fault on one of the joints between your house and the PCP (street cab). Report it to your ISP and they will send Openreach out to investigate/sort......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple
